A collection of Decapod Crustacea from Sumba, Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia Naturalis

The Sumba-Expedition undertaken by Dr. E . Sutter of the Naturhistorisches Museum of Basle and Dr. A . Bühler of the Museum für Völkerkunde of the same town, visited the Lesser Sunda Islands, Indonesia, in 1949. Dr. Sutter, the zoologist, stayed in the islands from 19 May to 26 November; most of the time was spent by him in Sumba (21 May-31 October), and extensive collections were made there, among which a most interesting material of Decapod Crustacea, which forms the subject of the present paper. A few Crustacea were collected on the islands of Sumbawa (on 19 May) and Flores (19 and 21 November). The animals taken at Flores belong to species also obtained in Sumba and will be treated here with those; at Sumbawa two hermit crabs belonging to the species...

Revision of the Euagathis species (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Bassinae) from the Sunda Islands Naturalis

The species of the genus Euagathis Szépligeti, 1900 (Braconidae: Bassinae (= Agathidinae)) from the Greater and Lesser Sunda Islands (including West Malaysia) are revised and keyed. The subfamily name Bassinae Nees, 1812, is used because it is senior to the commonly used subfamily name Agathidinae Nees, 1814. Twenty-two species are recognized, of which nine are new. The genus Holcotroticus Cameron, 1902, is synonymized with Euagathis Szepligeti, 1900, and Euagathis ruficollis (Cameron, 1902) is a new combination. The following species are synonymized: Euagathis pilosa Szépligeti, 1902, and E. creophora Cameron, 1905, with E. clathrata (Brullé, 1846); E. rufonigra Enderlein, 1920, with E. ruficollis (Cameron, 1902); Euagathis variabilis Enderlein, 1920,...

Three new species of the genus Irianjaya Koçak & Kemal from Indonesia (Diptera: Asilidae: Asilinae) Naturalis

Three new species of the genus Irianjaya Koçak & Kemal, 2009 (Diptera: Asilidae: Asilinae) from Indonesia are described and partly illustrated. Irianjaya halmaheraensis spec. nov. from Halmahera (North Moluccas), A. sulaensis spec. nov. from Mangole (Sula Islands) and I. sumbawaensis spec. nov. from Sumbawa (Lesser Sunda Islands). Eccoptopus impiger van der Wulp, 1872, is a new junior synonym of Irianjaya areolaris (Walker, 1860). In addition, the following new combinations are given: Irianjaya areolaris (Walker, 1860), I. impiger (Wulp, 1872), and I. mendax (Walker, 1857), formerly placed in Amphiscolops.
